| Information |
Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 501 was consolidated into the membership of Pipefitters Local 597 and Plumbers Local 130 effective April 1, 2013. The Local 501 Education (JATC) Fund was merged into the training funds of Pipefitters Local 597 and Plumbers Local 130 effective July 1, 2013.

| Donald Andree |
We are saddened to report that lifetime member Donald Andree passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2013. For many years Don and his wife Kathy were known as Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Local 501 Children's party and prior to 1998, the Local 514 Christmas Party. In the first years, they would bake the cookies that were given to the children at the party.

| Membership Consolidated April 1st |
The former Local 501 membership was successfully split between Chicago Plumbers Local 130 and Chicago Pipefitters Local 597 on April 1, 2013. The former Local 501 Hall has been retained by Local 597 who will continue to use the building as a satellite office and training center.

| Informational Meeting Scheduled |
International Representative Curtis Cade has scheduled an information meeting for Local 501 members at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at the Union Hall at 1295 Butterfield Road, Aurora, Illinois. Notices to the members were mailed on February 26th.

| Our President Retires |
Local 501 President Tim Vasquez has announced his retirement and his last day of work as our Organizer is on Friday, January 11th. We thank Tim for 15 years as President of Local 501, 6 years as our Organizer and 40 years of service in our industry. Best wishes to Tim for many happy years of retirement.

| Membership Meeting Canceled |
Due to the order of consolidation, the January 10th membership meeting as well as all future Local 501 membership meetings have been canceled.

| Order of Consolidation |
UA General President William Hite has ordered the consolidation of Locals 93 and 501 into Locals 130 and 597 effective January 1, 2013. A letter has been mailed to the membership informing them of the order of consolidation.

| UA Emergency Relief Fund |
Hurricane Sandy devasted regions including the Craibbean, the Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern United States in late October. In the United States, Hurricane Sandy afftected 24 states, with particlularly servere damage to New Jersey and New York. The damage in the US is estimated at over $63 billion.
