Robert H. Horan
January 2, 1937 - April 18, 2012
Robert "Bob" Horan, 75, a forty-four year resident of Wheaton, passed away peacefully at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL from complications following a recent stroke. Bob worked as a plumber in the Wheaton area for over thirty years. Bob coached Wheaton Boys Baseball team, minor league, in 1974; Wheaton Boys Baseball (Beagles) team, 1975, and Wheaton Youth Baseball, 1976 season. He enjoyed playing golf and was an avid White Sox, former Chicago Cardinals, and Notre Dame fan. Bob is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Margie; children, Sheila Horan (Michael Savegnago), Elizabeth Mellin, and Michael (Diana) and Mark (Rebecca) Horan; eight grandchildren, Kelsey Mellin, Christian, Corinne, Chloe and Carley Horan, and Hannah, Ryan and Claire Horan; and a brother John. Bob was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Zella Horan, a brother William and a sister-in-law Carol LaMar. He was the grandfather any child would want to have. In retirement, Bob and Margie traveled to many countries but no vacation spot could compare to his most favorite of all, Door County, Wisconsin. Memorial visitation Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Williams-Kampp Funeral Home, 430 E. Roosevelt Rd., Wheaton (1 blk. East of Naperville Rd.). In lieu of flowers, donations to Youth Initiative High School, 500 E. Jefferson St., Viroqua, WI would be appreciated.
