Elmer A. Zeleny

GENEVA – Elmer A. Zeleny, age 62, of Geneva passed away Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born Aug. 23, 1950, in Berwyn, the son of Elmer and Colleen (Rooney) Zeleny.
Elmer worked many years as a plumber for Mendel Plumbing and Dorr Plumbing and was a union plumber for Local 501. He was a Navy veteran, serving on the USS Constellation. He also was a longtime member of the St. Charles VFW Post 5036. He loved to cook and had cooked for many years at the Kane County Flea Market. He also enjoyed camping. His greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with friends and family.
He is survived by his longtime companion, Ann Campbell-Rea; two sons, Sean and Matthew ,both of Geneva; and a daughter, Victoria; and a brother, Kevin (Sandy) Sunday of Geneva.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday Dec. 31, at the Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State St. (Route 38) Geneva, with the Rev. Allen Eaton officiating.
Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Geneva. Visitation will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, at the Malone Funeral Home Geneva.
