Douglas Cecil Salewsky, 77, of Menominee, Mich. passed away at home on Saturday, July 21, 2012. He was born in Menominee on January 17, 1935, to the late Milton W. and Delia V. (Bebo) Salewsky, Sr.
Doug served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean conflict and the Cuban Missile Crisis. Doug was a strong willed person who loved the outdoors and was an avid sports fan, he loved golfing with his buddies and he admired the navy, always looking forward to his yearly reunions with his fellow shipmates on the "USS Colonial". Doug would go out of his way to help out anyone in need. To his extended family of grandchildren he was known as "Papa Doug".
Doug is survived by his significant other of over 24 years, Eileen Heider of Menominee, Mich.; three daughters: Carol Salewsky, Cheryl Salewsky and Dolores Salewsky, all of Escondido,Calif.; three sons: Douglas M. Salewsky of Indianapolis, Ind., Robert (Sarah) Salewsky and granddaughter, Madisen of Marinette, Wis. and Ralph Salewsky (Marilyn) and two grandchildren in Mira Mesa, Calif.; his three step-children: Marlene Seid of DePere, Wis. and Gary Nicoll and Randy Nicoll, both of Menominee, Mich.; three sisters: Lenore (Duane) Phillips of Wallace, Mich. and Carol Salewsky and Joy Salewsky, both of Menominee, Mich.; one brother, Charles (Virginia) Salewsky of Menominee, Mich.; his extended family including Connie (Kip) McKenney, Bill (Cindy) Treptow, Sandy (Dale) Barber, Kathy (Mike) Utke and Judy (Gary) Sadowski and many other family members and friends. Along with his parents, Doug was preceded in death by three brothers: Milton Salewsky, Jr.; Carmen Salewsky and Loren Salewsky.
Funeral services for Doug will be held at the Cadieu-Thielen Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at 6 p.m. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of the service. Deacon Vincent Beckley will officiate.

Steve is survived by his wife Shirley Summer of Aurora; his daughters, Susanne Ismaili of Aurora and Carol (James) Gerber of Aurora; his seven grandchildren, Sadeta (Doug) Holder, Drita Ismaili, Joshua Gerber, Jennifer Gerber, Crystal (Nick) Rees, Christopher (Michelle) Gerber and Jesseca Gerber; his fifteen great grandchildren; his brother, Chuck Summer; his sister, Ethel Wennmaker; and many other family and friends. Krzeminski, Frank Passed away on April 24, 2012 at Ashbury Gardens in North Aurora. He fought a courageous battle with lung cancer during the past two years with determination to live. Frank was born December 17, 1931 in Aurora IL, to Adam and Teofilia Krzeminksi. He has lived his entire life in Aurora, graduating from West Aurora High School in 1948. Frank served in the US Marine Corp. Upon his return from military service he became a plumber and retired in 1994 after 38 years. Frank enjoyed fishing, cards, golfing and was an avid gardener, always happy to share his annual harvest with all the family members. Frank would compete each year with his son-in-law Steve for who had the earliest and largest tomato of the season. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Lou; his sister, Cecilia; his three daughters, Susan (Mark) Rogers, Luanne (John) Manny, and Cindy (Steve) Wolf; Frank adored his ten grandchildren, Christopher Manny, Jay (Brandy) Wolf, Robert Manny, Christa Wolf, Jeff (Melanie) Schiltz, Justin (Shannon) Manny, Sean (Jenny) Schluchter, Paul (Caitlin) Rogers, Jamie (Jessica) Rogers, and Ashley (Matt) Stalter. Frank is further survived by his ten great-grandchildren, Kylee, Abby, Cullen, Logan, Shiloh, Rylan, Madison, Sawyer, Macklyn and Clayton. Frank was preceded in death by both his parents, and his brothers, Walter, Joseph and Steve. Frank always had a smile and a wink for his caregivers the past two years. The family appreciates the care and .attention that was given to Frank. And thanks to all who called, visited and prayed for Frank throughout his battle. A memorial service will be held on Thursday May 3, 2012, at the VFW, 121 N River St. Montgomery IL. Visitation will start at 5:15 followed by a memorial service at 6:00 pm.

Robert "Bob" Horan, 75, a forty-four year resident of Wheaton, passed away peacefully at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL from complications following a recent stroke. Bob worked as a plumber in the Wheaton area for over thirty years. Bob coached Wheaton Boys Baseball team, minor league, in 1974; Wheaton Boys Baseball (Beagles) team, 1975, and Wheaton Youth Baseball, 1976 season. He enjoyed playing golf and was an avid White Sox, former Chicago Cardinals, and Notre Dame fan. Bob is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Margie; children, Sheila Horan (Michael Savegnago), Elizabeth Mellin, and Michael (Diana) and Mark (Rebecca) Horan; eight grandchildren, Kelsey Mellin, Christian, Corinne, Chloe and Carley Horan, and Hannah, Ryan and Claire Horan; and a brother John. Bob was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Zella Horan, a brother William and a sister-in-law Carol LaMar. He was the grandfather any child would want to have. In retirement, Bob and Margie traveled to many countries but no vacation spot could compare to his most favorite of all, Door County, Wisconsin. Born Oct. 10, 1934, in St. Louis, Mo., the son of William T. and Violet (Thompson) Rongey, he married Mary Ellen Maley on May 24, 1958, at St. Mary Catholic Church in DeKalb.
A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Frank was a member of Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 501 in Aurora and of St. Mary Catholic Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion, all in DeKalb. He was employed by Northern Illinois University as a plumber for 35 years.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen; children, Brad Rongey of Dallas, Texas, Scott (Kathy) Rongey of Sycamore and William (Christina) Rongey of Wheaton; four grandchildren, Danielle and Andrea, and their mother, Julie (David) Peters, and Samantha and Kayla; great-grandson, Mason; brother, Robert (Madeline) Rongey of Los Angeles, Calif.; sisters, Pat Cornish of Maple Park and Fernetta Reid of Riverside, Calif.; aunt, Virginia Otten of St. Peters, Mo.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 321 Pine St., DeKalb, with Fr. Kenneth Anderson celebrating and full military honors provided by DeKalb County Honor Guard. Cremation will follow, with burial of cremated remains at a later date. MILLER, HENRY "ROSS" III of Medford, NJ, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 9th, 2012. He was 68 yrs. of age. Born in Mount Kisco, NY, he has resided in Medford since 1977 moving there from Chicago, IL. He is the founder and owner of Pro Tapping Inc. in Medford, NJ which he founded in 1983. A Vietnam War Veteran, Ross was a member of the NRA, Union Local #501, and various other industry organizations. His love for the outdoors allowed him to enjoy hunting and fishing and the training of Brittany Spaniels throughout his life. He is the Beloved Father of Sean E. Miller of Medford, NJ, Todd Henry Miller of Baltimore, MD and Stephanie Cooney and her husband Timothy of Marlton, NJ and Grandfather of T.J., Kendall, and Dillon Cooney. He is also survived by his Father Henry R. Miller Jr. of Xenia, OH and his brother Randall B. Miller of Xenia, OH and his faithful companions Pudge and Aubrey. He is the son of the late Marie Louise (Emmons) Miller. Alfred Steininger, 81, of Batavia, passed away January 24, 2012 at Provena Pine View Care Center in St. Charles. He was born July 5, 1930 in Munich, Germany, the son of Karl and Franziska (nee Lechner) Steininger. He was united in marriage to Martha Wachinger on August 8, 1953 in Hinckley, IL. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in Korea from 1954-1955. He worked as a licensed commercial plumber for over forty years. He enjoyed fishing, photography, and especially spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Martha; children, Fred (Beverly) Steininger of Batavia, Susan (Robert) Nielsen of Aurora, and Herb (Anne) Steininger of Bartlett; nine grandchildren, Michael and Sarah Steininger, Bryan, Derek, Kyle, and Kathryn Nielsen, and Katie, Timothy, and Rebecca Steininger; and a sister, Frieda Fischl of Munich, Germany. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Rudolf Steininger. Visitation will be held from 2-4 P.M. on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at the Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 S. Batavia Ave., Batavia, IL. A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 4 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be held private at a later date.

Gene Fagan, 88, passed away Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011, at Arden Courts in Geneva. He was born Oct. 9, 1923, in DeKalb, Ill., the son of the late George and Irene (nee Daae) Fagan. Gene graduated from DeKalb High School and then joined the Army to serve in World War II. During his service, he trained with the 82nd Airborne Division and was in Company C 325th Glider Infantry Regiment that served in England, France, Holland and Belgium. During the Battle of the Bulge, Gene was injured and was awarded the Purple Heart Medal. When he was in the service, he received a letter from Ida May Bannon. Ida was a student at Northern Illinois University and as a sorority assignment she had to write a letter to a serviceman. That serviceman was Gene. When he returned home from the war, the two met and soon married. They were able to celebrate 50 years of marriage. To this union, they were blessed and had two children, Mike and Cathy. Gene's vocation throughout his life was plumbing. His avocation was his family. Gene best like to spend time with his grandchildren and could play store or school for hours on end. He gladly cared for all of his grandchildren. Survivors include his children, Mike (Lila) Fagan of Aurora and Cathy (Jim) Baines of Batavia; grandchildren, Sara (Wes) Baines Stockdale, Mike (Abby) Baines and Emily Fagan; and great-grandchildren, Jamie and Jake Stockdale, and Mathew and Gabby Baines. Gene was preceded in death by his wife, Ida May; his brothers, George Jr. and Charles Fagan; and his sister, Charlotte Fagan. Visitation will be held on Monday, Dec. 12, from 4 to 7 p.m. at The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Place, Aurora. A private family service will be held. SAVANNA – Michael Remrey, 65, of Savanna, passed away Saturday, Nov. 5, at Big Meadows Nursing Home in Savanna. He was retired with the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union, Local 612.
Michael was born Sept. 23, 1946, in Dixon, the son of Adelbert and Hazel (Carlson) Remrey. He was united in marriage to Beverly J. Wolfley on June 10, 1983, in Leaf River. She preceded him in death in 2006. He was a veteran of the Navy. Michael was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Polo and Savanna, the Moose Lodge and the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Clinton, Iowa.
Survivors include son, Alex (Libby) Remrey of Bienville, La.; brother, Dale (Linda) Smyth of The Woodlands, Texas; and nine grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents.
Private burial will be at Fairmount Cemetery in Polo. Cremation rites will be accorded.

Sittler, Ronald E. "Red" Age 75, of Yorkville, IL passed away on Monday, October 31, 2011 in Fort Myers, FL. He was born on December 13, 1935 in Wheaton, IL the son of Edward and Bernadine (Kocher) Sittler. Mr. Sittler was united in marriage on March 23, 2007 to Jeanne Kise and they spent the next four plus happy years together. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and great uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and many friends. Mr. Sittler was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Plano, IL. Red served his country proudly as a member of the United States Army during the Korean War. He was employed as a plumber and pipe fitter for many years. Red also worked as a part-time farmer. He was a very talented woodworker and built everything and could fix anything. Tom was a lifelong resident of Elgin, he was a graduate of Elgin High School and served in the US Army and was stationed in Korea. He was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 501 for 50 years before retiring in 2007.

 Joseph Walter Henning , 28, passed away unexpectedly on Aug. 19, 2011, in DeKalb, Ill. He was born Aug. 11, 1983, in Chippewa Falls, Wis., the son of Walt and Jean (Oemig) Henning.
Joe was a 2002 graduate of Chippewa Falls High School where he participated in wrestling and football. He went on to attend Northern Illinois University. He was currently employed as an apprentice pipe fitter for the Pipe Fitters Union Local 501.
Joe had many passions. His love of sports extended to his favorite teams: the Dallas Cowboys, Minnesota Twins and Chicago Blackhawks. He was involved in youth wrestling, even after graduating from high school, and positively influenced many young athletes in Chippewa Falls, as well as Sycamore and DeKalb. He loved to help people and had a soft spot for children, especially his niece and nephew. Joe loved his family and was very close to his siblings.
People described him as a great teammate and a loyal friend. If you were Joe's friend, you were family. He had a kind heart, mischievous grin and charming personality. His gift was the ability to make people laugh and feel special. He was always the first to help out a friend. Joe continued his giving even after death by donating his organs to those in need.
Joe is survived by his parents, Walter and Jean (Oemig) Henning of Chippewa Falls; brothers, Christopher (Kate) Henning of Bayport, Minn., and Craig Henning (Shanda Miracle) of Mauston, Wis.; sister, Jaime (Casey) Otto of Bloomer, Wis.; niece, Alena Otto; nephew, Jacoby Otto; maternal grandparents, Karl and Marcy Oemig of Sarona, Wis.; paternal grandparents, Jim and Diane Eyerly of Menomonie, Wis.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
While Joe shared a special relationship with many family members and friends, there were a few that he was exceptionally close to. He thought the world of Jamie "Uncle Jay" Eyerly; his adopted aunt, Mary; high school wrestling coach, Tom "Coach P" Pomietlo; family friend, "Piff" Rubenzer; high school friends, Reuben Boettcher, Luke Smith and Justin Henderson; and his college family, the Hiatt Brothers, Sam, Andy and Max.
He was most recently preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Walter Henning Sr.; and paternal great-grandmother, Genevieve Henning.
A celebration of life will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, at the Elks Club, 209 S. Annie Glidden Road, DeKalb.

Thompson, Robert D. "Bob" Age 68, of Aurora, passed away peacefully with his family around him on Friday, May 13, 2011. Bob recently retired from the Department of Inspections and Permits for the City of Aurora where he was the plumbing inspector for over twenty years. He was a member and had served on the board of the Illinois Plumbing Inspector's Association as Secretary-Treasurer and President. Bob was a lifetime member of the Illinois Plumbing and Pipefitter's Union, Locals 501 and 319, during which time he taught for the union at Waubonsee Community College and had a regular column in the UA magazine. Bob was the most honest and caring gentleman any of us have ever known and always found a kind word for everyone. Bob was a forty year member of Holy Angels Parish. He loved to travel and he and Cathy frequently went abroad to see the world with Bridie and Edgar. His family was his pride and joy and we all feel blessed that we had such a wonderful man as a husband, father, brother, uncle and Papa. He is survived by his loving wife of forty-eight years, Cathern "Cathy", his three daughters, Tawnya Thompson, Suzanne Faust, Sharon (Mike) Groble; two granddaughters, Emma Faust and Fiona Groble. He will be sorely missed by his family in Ireland, Bridie and Edgar McCormick, Mary Rose Gallagher, Darren, Gavin, Colleen, Hannah and baby Jamie McCormick and the late Ian McCormick, Shirley McGurk and Eamon Gallagher. He will also be sadly missed by his family in Pennsylvania; a brother, Ed (Nancy) Thompson; a sister, Kathleen (Carl) Marano; eleven nieces and seventeen nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Edna Cloe Thompson, four brothers, Fran (May), Walter (Helen), George (Pauline), Boyd (Helen); a sister, Alberta (James) Wheeler. Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at 9:30 AM from THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY to Holy Angels Church at 10:00 AM. Fr. John Earl will officiate. Interment will be in Derry Northern Ireland.
